POAC (Primary Options for Acute Care) is a service covering the Tāmaki Makaurau region (this includes Te Whatu Ora Te Toka Tumai Auckland, Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau, and Te Whatu Ora Waitematā) providing healthcare professionals access to a range of funded healthcare services in the community.  Our key focus is on ensuring the right care is provided in a convenient location and in a timely manner.

The POAC coordination team facilitates access to existing infrastructure and resources in the community to provide a range of both acute and planned care services.

The aim of the POAC service is to deliver timely, flexible, and coordinated care, meeting the healthcare needs of individual patients in a community setting (and usually close to home or work).
