Anti-D in Pregnancy
Prescribing Anti-D
Prescribe and administer as per the Auckland Regional HealthPathway here
Arrange collection of anti-D immunoglobulin.
Email a copy of the prescription to the appropriate blood bank (see below), and phone them to confirm the order
Give the patient (or their representative) the prescription and the address of the blood bank to collect. Advise them that they need to bring the anti-D immunoglobulin straight back to the general practice for administration.
If the patient is unable to collect:
Contact POAC by phone (09) 535‑7218 or email referral@poac.co.nz to request and arrange a courier/taxi.
Email a copy of the script to POAC - ensure the correct patient address and contact phone number are provided
POAC staff will manually create a new case and liaise with the relevant blood bank and patient for delivery.
