LARC Insertions and Removals - Auckland & Waitemata

Eligibility
Eligible women must:
reside in Auckland or Waitemata catchment, OR
be enrolled in or presenting to a practice in Auckland or Waitemata catchment, AND
ONE of the following must be true:
Economic Deprivation (Q5), OR
Holds a Community Service Card (CSC), OR
Maori or Pacific Ethnicity, OR
At risk of poor outcomes from unplanned pregnancy
By submitting claim to POAC, the provider is confirming all eligibility criteria are met.
Service Schedule
The following can be claimed for activity performed by a suitably trained clinician, for eligible patients (see above criteria).
All fees are inclusive of GST, the POAC administration fee is not claimable
Claiming Process
Option 1: Submit via PMS form
Submit referral and claim through the normal POAC process, using the ADHB or WDHB POAC form within the PMS.
Claim using the patient domiciled district, unless patient resides in Counties Manukau where you can override the warning and proceed under the district of the practice.
- Use diagnosis coding 'LARC Contraception'
- Claim using the set fee schedule (see above)
Option 2: Submit using web-based form

Claiming
All claiming for LARC services should be made via the clinic's PMS using the POAC claiming system using the code "LARC Contraception"
